Welcome to
The Dog and Gun
The Dog & Gun has a long history, originally a Coaching Inn with documented history dating back to the 17th century. The Inn was ideally situated on what was known as the Monks Walk for pilgrims traveling to Lindisfarne.
Today The Dog & Gun is run by Landlord and Landlady, Jim & Teressa Collinson, who have been at this very popular pub since March 2005. Situated between Bishop Auckland and the popular A68 route North to Scotland, makes this an ideal stop off for travelers and visitors looking for a good pub serving good wholesome pub grub.
The pub is a firm favourite with locals, though stories are that the pub is HAUNTED. It does not seem to stop them enjoying a good pint at their favourite local all the same.
The pub offers a range of events including a singer on Saturday nights, Table Top quiz on Saturday and Sunday. With teams for Football, Domino's, Darts and Pool all representing the pub.
